Political Tax Credit:

Did you know that Oregon offers a unique Political Tax Credit? The credit is simple — Oregon taxpayers who earn under $75,000 per individual, or under $150,000 per household can give up to $50 per year (or $100 for joint-filing couples) to qualifying local election candidates of their choice and receive the full amount as a credit subtracted from state taxes at tax time. It’s like a free donation!

You qualify if:

  • You are an Oregon resident
  • You will submit an Oregon tax return for 2023
  • You will make less than $75,000 in 2023 (or $150,000 for joint-filing couples)

Please see the Oregon Secretary of State’s website for details. (Contributions or gifts to this campaign are not tax-deductible for federal income tax purposes.)

Campaign season is just beginning. Teacher Tiffany will need volunteers as the election gets closer. Sign up to learn more about how to make calls, talk to neighbors, or host a house party for Teacher Tiffany for the People!
